MARINE DRAUGHTSPERSON - ALUMINIUM DESIGN
New instructions require us to locate motivated Marine CAD Draughtsperson to join a well-established design team located on the North Shore. Reporting to the MD, you will be draughting structures, mechanical systems, design concepts, interiors and presentation drawings for aluminium vessels, more often than not high speed all-weather multi-hulls for commercial and leisure applications.
Ideally, you will already be familiar with the principal class society and maritime regulations in support of the naval architects, but we are most interested in your ability to drive AutoCAD (2D; 3D) Maxsurf, Workshop and Hydromax, plus Rhino and the MS Office suite of products from day one.
In addition, you will enjoy a distinct advantage if you have also worked with CNC packages to create nesting sheets and cutting instructions, given the preferred house focus on aluminium construction, which accounts for 95% of output.
You will have at least three years or more prior work experience gained in engineering draughting work, and so the focal exposure we’d be looking for, as an absolute minimum, would be aluminium fabrication.
