Responsibilities:
• The successful applicant may be required to rotate through the dispensary, clinical areas, and compounding.
• Prepare, supply and supervise the provision of medicines and other items as may be required.
• Maintain records for purchasing, quality control, compounding, dispensing and clinical activities to the required standards.
• Provide advice to medical, nursing and other health care professionals on the safe, effective and economic use of medicines
• Provide accurate and current information on medicines to health care professionals
• Participate in continuing education and research activities consistent with the post
• Supervision of the Pharmacy Technicians work if required
• Placing Orders in accordance with the hospital procedures
• Prepare Reports for the Finance Department as and if required.
• Carry out such other duties appropriate to the position as directed form time to time
Requirements:
• Be registered in the Register of Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered.
• Possess the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office
• Have 3 years post qualification experience.
• Experience working in a hospital setting essential
