Due to continuing growth, they are seeking applications from vibrant professionals with demonstrated experience in structural engineering to join their Nelson team.
Working in a dynamic team and with leading edge technology, your responsibilities will include:
• Preparation of calculations required for the design of engineering projects.
• Produce detailed designs and documentation for the implementation of medium to large sized engineering projects.
• Assist in the analysis of technical information.
• Supervision of graduates and draughting staff.
• Preparation of specifications, proposals and other tender documentation.
• Undertake site inspections and associated reporting, Liaison with clients, sub-consultants, contractors.
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:
• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering,
• A minimum of 3 - 4 years in a consulting environment - seismic design experience is preferable but not essential.
• Solid background in the design of commercial structures with particular experience in reinforced concrete, steel and timber detailing.
• Sound knowledge in the use of structural analysis software
• Experience in the design of basements and foundations
• Knowledge and experience of relevant engineering codes, standards and practices
• Strong client focus and a willingness to learn,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing
